It is located 240 kilometers south of state capital, Jaipur. The national highway no. 12 and 76 also passes through the city. National Highway No. 76 is a part of East-West Corridor. There are express and deluxe buses to Kota at regular interval from most of the parts of Rajasthan. By the side of the eastern bank of the Chambal River, the town of Kota lies.
